Chapman & Frazer were among New England’s most significant residential architects in the early 20th century. Their portfolio includes many of the most distinguished homes in Brookline and Newton. In Brookline alone they designed 67 houses, of which only a handful were executed in Spanish Colonial style. That stylistic rarity is part of what makes 142 Crafts Road architecturally significant within their body of work.
